Definitely been a long time since it's my turn to update! It's been pretty exciting adapting into a new place and all, everyone has been nothing but very friendly and welcoming at the uni. Works are still piling up though, but that's alright. I sleptover last night and i love my friend's surrounding area! even though it gets creepy day and night, there is a lot of fascinating things and places to take a picture of. It was hilarious that we were watching two cats sitting by the window who were bird-watching. The owner who was in the next room must have thought we were some kind of creep or something, but those two cats are so adorable. I am very cat-deprived, I miss my cat back home! and please Melbourne, let more sunlight in!

Hellow lovelies! Last week we went off to a warehouse that sells second hand clothing for $10 and $5! They're called star. It was such a delight being there because there was so many pretty clothes and hey it was worth going even though they wren't selling shoes (which i desperately need).

Other than that, this week i have learnt how to make proper coffee. Not the instant ones but like a Barista! :P It was such an awesome experience and to be honest i loathe coffee. I can't handle the taste but for some odd reason i drank 3 cups off coffee in that class and it's def. my last try (or not). I have learnt how to grind a coffee, how to make white latte, long and short black, machiato, coffee latte and the shots. It was really fascintating learning about coffees, they're complicated to deal with but the reason i took this class was so that i can get a part time job. I actually want to go the class again just so i can play around and make pretty art on the coffee. I love it! Does anyone have jobs that involves with coffee making??

Wow it's been quite a while since the last update hasn't it? definitely a lot has been going on since the beginning of this year. I'm currently in my second year and there's just non-stop assignments each week. Other than that i've been going to awesome shows such as Foals, Andrew Mcmahon (jack's mannequin) and Best Coast. They were all really good especially Foals, i can't believe i have finally seen them live. It was amazing, just because Yannis was so entertaining to watch...like trying to jump off from the second floor. They're all probably my last shows until the next 3 months or so because money is pretty much a big deal.

I love this scene. It reminds me of Grease as well. I really adore the cut off denim shirt that sort of look like a long vest.

I tried to get a screen cap of the details on the skirt. I think that's a zipper at the front with two silver buttons. It looks like a floral skirt.

I grew up watching boy meets world. I love this tv series, it's funny and original. I love how in almost every episodes there's a lesson to be learned. A lesson in life. I watched it again a month ago. I only got up to the 5th season though. I was so inspired by the outfits they were wearing in the first few seasons. I love how they look in general. I'm completely in love with fashion from the 90s. I adore the cut off overall Chloe Sevigny is wearing. I used to love wearing overalls all the time, just because that's the only thing that fits me. I first stumbled upon twentysevennames twentysevennames a few weeks back when I was browsing through no. magazine. I fell in love with it instantly. Their 2010/2011 summer collection is perfection. It consists of mainly nude colours, frills, knits, and sheer materials. At a glance, the cob web lace tee reminds me of Hope Sandoval's outfit in one of her videos. I can't quite remember which video right now. I absolutely love the lilac coloured collar. Lately, I find myself loving outfits from the 90s. No.magazine is one of my favourite magazine too! Check it out. I love their editorials. I hope I can work there one day.

I'm going back to Melbourne next week. Super excited! My friend booked the hotel for Philip Island. We're planning to go there at the end of January. I can't wait for the beach. I'm back in Doha for the month, it's been alright so far but I'm running out of stuff to do! I'm quite excited to go back to Melbourne at the end of this month, despite the fact that I'll be spending new years in the plane. Oh the horror. Today is Qatar's National day, and my parents wants to go to the corniche where they are going to have carnivals, fireworks and such to celebrate for the event. I guess I'm quite excited to take velvet (my smena symbol) out. I wanted to get a fujilm instax 210 yesterday, but I didn't end up getting it because they ran out of film :(

What's everyone doing for new years and christmas? Also, I've been listening to a lot of blackbird blackbird lately. They're just gorgeous. This is my favourite song from them, I can't help but smile watching the video. The other video they have for this song is quite beautiful too.

A few months back Celsy and I went to Sydney for five days! It was all great fun. We've never been to Sydney before so we really had that whole tourist excitement going on. Sydney is huge, such a busy city full of wandering tourists. We stayed across the Harbour Bridge at a suburb called Kirribilli. The suburb is gorgeous, it's like a tiny town all on its own. We stayed at a bed and breakfast called Glenferrie Lodge, it's a really welcoming lodge filled with families, old people, and backpackers. Even though it's a bit of a walk to the city, by a bit I mean it takes 45 minutes to walk across the bridge to get to the city. It's such a lovely feeling though, walking across the bridge, especially at night. I kinda miss it now.

We went to eat at "Pancakes on the Rocks", a popular pancakes place at Sydney, and it was amazing. We had chocolate pancakes! I've never had chocolate pancakes before, and wow it tasted so good. The second day at Sydney was crazy, we walked all the way from Kirribilli to Darling Harbour. I don't know how many kilometers we walked that day, but I can tell you this the soles of my shoes fell off because of it. I had to use super glue to fix it.

I can't believe how long this blog has been dead for. I miss posting stuff up, but workload has been a heavy burden for me to lift up. It's all doodaahdoooh life is good now though. Say goodbye to exams, I'm as free as a cageless bird now.

Super duper summer here means you can't be crazier for staying here and not running away to somewhere cooler! Well, hello shorts and comfy loose t-shirts! I was just emptying my wardrobe then stopped half-way, it's so stressing deciding which one should stay and go. It helped me realize how much stuff I don't need though *loooong louuuud sigh*. I will be leaving to Turkey in two more days. I think it's going to be fantastic! Shimmering mediterranean seas.. ahh my body feels so light thinking about it. Hey you guys! It's been a while but quiet a few things has happened lately. We've just watched The Swell Season concert, it was amazing! For those who don't know them check them out pretty please and watch Glen's and Marketa's movie 'Once'. It was beautiful listening to Glen singing and the whole crew too. Especially when he sang 'Say it to me', it probably gave shiver to the whole crowd.

Also yesterday we went and saw a movie called 'Welcome' in the cinema. It's a French movie about an Iraqi immigrant boy who is trying to get to UK but kept getting caught, until he met this one guy. Anyways i won't spoil anything because you have to watch it, but be warn the movie will make you feel all low and blue. Oh and it's funny after we watch a movie we came across this French guy down the street singing while playing the guitar, we asked if he could play us a song and he sang all these lovely French songs and some of his personal ones too. It's funny how he looks so much like Glen Hansard from The Swell Season and how he is playing guitar down the street. His name was Remi and he was a very lovely guy. He gave both of us a hug after we listened to couple of his songs and that made our feelings a little less blue! I really hope we can bump into him again, afterall Melbourne is quiet a small place :)

Hello everyone!

How's your day today? I'm asking you this because mine has been great even though the weather has been very gloomy but it's just the way I like it! :-) It was nice to take a stroll this morning while sipping a cup of tea, yes like my name Asti (read: Ice-Tea). I also had a good listen to Karen O and The Kids - All is Love to brighten up my day!

So, I skipped school today just because my brain is never functional in school. It's sort of a bummer when you feel like studying, especially for an exam, but people just start chatting to you and you carry on. The result of staying at home did not go that well either! Haha. I was on style.com a couple of hours back when I bumped into these gorgeous Lolita based designs! There were 16 designs being shown in total, these are my favourite ones. I love how the majority of the designs are so colour and pattern based. I've always love colours and patterns for as long as I can remember, I just go oogo ga ga over them.

The Moschino Cheap & Chic design is the perfect wear for a day out in the beach. I think the daisy looking floppy hat is a genius. I can imagine other kind of flower hats. A sunflower floppy hat? Yumness! To be honest I like the 1950s kind of swimwear in comparison to what we have right now. I fell in love with the Luella design instantly! How gorgeous is it! Everything about it is perfect, even the make up and the model. I need to have that dress in my closet! I hope Topshop has a similar design for their next season.

I've been helping out in the infant school, and I'm loving it! All of the kids are so sweet, they say and do the most funniest things ever. I'm going to miss it when I go back to Melbourne at the end of this month. I'm sort of dreading going back there, since its summer right now in Melbourne! If only it was the nice 24/25 degrees summer..

The weather has been so lovely lately! It's all gloomy and dark, makes me wanna sleep all day long and not do or worry about a single shizz in my life! Atika got a new bike last week, her bike is lovely. I feel all giggly riding it, and I feel like I want to randomly burst into songs when I'm on it.

I went to Istanbul a couple of weeks back. I had such a great time there! I miss having holidays with my family. Istanbul is a beautiful place, the people there are really friendly too! When we were there, we went to this island called Princes' Island. The island is gorgeous, it's a like little town all on its own. I'm not sure but I think I didn't see anyone riding cars in that island (which is great for me), they use bikes as a form of transport!! How awesome is that. You could even rent bikes if you don't have your own bike. Ahh that island definitely left me a good impression.

Btw... how awesome is New Moon's soundtrack?! Its amazing. I, myself is not a fan of the Twilight Saga... or even vampires for that matter, but by golly the New Moon soundtrack is tres awesome!! My favourite one is Satellite Heart by Anya Maria and New Moon (The Meadow) by Alexandre Desplat, a two must listen if you've not already have. Anyways, I hope you're all doing well and enjoying yourselves. Much love!

Ahh the 1950s.. there's something that is so admiring about that era. Sometimes I do wish that I lived around that time. Gorgeous clothes. Music that makes your feet tap. Talking with that 1950s accent. Sending postcards instead of sending emails or chatting on MSN. Yes. The 50s sounds lovely and perfect for me.

Apologies beforehand for the picture overload, but I just couldn't resist myself! I can't help but imagine my head (or rather body) in each of these 50s clothing! I especially love the make up style back then, with (fairly) thick eyebrows, red lush lipstick. I think the make up is the cherry on top.

How are you feeling today, folks? I'm feeling fantastic despite the fact that I just woke up with this little person hammering in my head. We played a very intense badminton last night, it was really fun! Covered in sweat didn't bother us though because the weather last night was hella awesome. I hope winter will pay us a looong loong visit this year.

We went to Joshua Radin's gig awhile ago, we tried to hinder from the crazed fans out there therefore no, we didn't try to touch his hand or shout "marry me". Yes we are his much more cooler fans, totally. He was amazing btw, he sounded as good on recording as he does live! Hmmm, what shall I recommend for our Saturday tune then? Try listening to Monogrenade – Ce Soir, a dear friend of mine recommended it to me.

The weather today is getting more friendly therefore my sista-from-the-other-hood suggested to take pictures outside her house. Believe it or not, it was my first time wearing skinny jeans besides trying them out in the fitting room! Afterward, we went into separate ways, hanging out with people our age! Haha. I went to eat with the guys, laughed, raced each other at the playground -srsly? how old are we?-, laughed more, stopped by at my friend's party then things got more serious. I have noticed how people always contradict themselves unconsciously and unfortunately. It was an interesting day despite the bizarre things that happened! Gotttaaahh gooohh tooh sleepph nowwh.

Spring is here! Finally! I love spring, it is definitely my favourite season. We went to see one our friend's gig last night, she played the violin and sang to pokerface. It was very enjoyable! Her voice was gorgeous, and her violin skills kills! I'm so excited to see her perform again :)

Another sunny day outside, we went to the nearest playground which used to be filled with children playing and screaming/laughing. I wonder what happened? I guess the weather is just a bit too hot and they stopped coming out for a while. I thought the natural sunlight was absolutely beautiful in the pictures! We've both have baked some delicious cakes; Baked cheesecake and Red Velvet cake :D

Oh we've also been listening to Jay-z and Alicia Keys - Empire state of mind, it is a genre we usually don't listen to but the collaboration was great and Alicia Key's piano and voice is magnificent.

There's something about this half french half irish girl that is so intriguing. I saw her on screen in (500) days of Summer a couple of days back (yes Australia is very late when it comes to movies), and she was just the cutest! I love her vintage-indie style of dressing in that movie, despite the fact that the ending of the movie made me go "WOT?!" with a british accent.

I simply adore the outfit she wore in the first picture. I love the details of the skirt (reminds me of fish scales), and the wooden heart shaped necklace is the perfect cherry topping to the white dress! Actually I think she might be wearing two pieces of clothing. Ohmg, I'm craving for some caramel pudding. I wish it would magically drop from the sky as of this very moment.

Okay dokes, I gotta head off to Woolworths now to do some grocery shopping! I love grocery shopping and wandering around in the aisles :D

It still feels like summer here even though school has started, it gets better when afternoon comes though. The sky would be clear and the sun would shine really brightly that it's enough to make your skin go red in a minute or so, can't wait for winter!

Dorothea is probably my favourite face out there! She has stunning features, only 18 and yet she has walked for many shows such as Marc Jacobs, Prada, Burberry Prorsum, Jill Stuart and more.

On the other hand, I've been bleaching my unused denim pants and so far they've turned out really good. I've got different colour combination and this urge me to bleach more of my denim's! What an addictive thing to do. I'm listening to Russian Red- Cigarettes, gosh her voice is adorable :)

I just loveeeeee head accesories! I can never get enough of them. Me and head accesories is like.. Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron. Ok, maybe not really, 'cause I don't sing and dance me heart out for head accesories.. or maybe I do (secretly).

Omg I've just discovered the most delicioustest (does that word even exists?!) ice cream flavour ever! Lemon ice-cream flavour! It tastes soooooo good. The bittersweetness is just perfect. I mean I am a fan of mon family fruits (lemon, melon, watermelon), but never in my life have I tasted lemon ice-cream flavour! The taste of lemon always reminds me of how it feels like to fall in and out of love. The bitter taste of lemon is the hurt due to conflicts, arguments, fights, or even the end, which is the break up. And as for the sweet taste is the feeling of falling in love. Those tingly, warm, fuzzy, butterfly-ey feeling.

Oh! And the colour of the lemon ice-cream was white! :D What's your favourite fruit and ice-cream flavour? I hope you all had a nice weekend.

I had a great weekend! On Friday I went over to my friend's place to celebrate her 21st birthday, me and a couple of my friends decided we should bake her a rainbow cake covered with white buttercream and decorated with strawberries! The idea was we wanted her to be suprised by the rainbow layers beneath the white buttercream, and she was suprised! :)

Then on saturday me and my friend went to see a great sale somewhere down at fitzroy! It took us 3 hours to find the place, omg. I almost died, no seriously. I felt so dehydrated and drained. But it was all worth it! The sale was awesome, I bought a geometric top dress and a high waisted yellow summer skirt (it's what I'm wearing up there). I love that summer skirt, apparantely its a sample for next season's line, but the store girl said they're not producing it in that colour anymore. Pity, I think it's a gorgeous summer colour.

Theeeeeeen the following day, I went to see a great local gig on the 23rd at the toff in town, it was amazing! The bands who played were Georgia Fields, Ben Abraham, and Young Werther. Check them out at their myspace! Yes I'm promoting them under my own will. I'm planning to see Ben Abraham again this friday, should be good. If any of you are in Melbourne I think you should check out the gig this friday! You can find the poster in his website.

If a fairy god mother asked me for one wish right now, it would be to grand me a private jet plane and fly me off to London. Yep for now :)

Beside wishing for things i have a thing for clothes that has a history to it, such as the denim skirt i'm wearing in the picture. It was my Mom's when she was around her 20's, so basically it's about 18 years old! I was glad that they actually fit me. I also adore the green ring that i bought from the National Gallery (London), since then it's been stuck to my finger for about 7 months because it's almost impossible to take it off!

Purchased the bag and skirt just today, and I cannot stop admiring the bag. The bag is my new lover! I can't wait to wear it. I've been staying under the sun (read: not getting out of my room unless Bob the tummy wants food, or I need to go to the loo) and studying (exams soon!) lately. Today, my family went out to chill in Villagio. It was strange because I didn't have the urge to shop unlike my brother for the first time in his life. He also bought me a wallet which I had been lurking from time to time. I really love it when all of us gather together because everyone is usually in such a good mood! hahahaha.

Okay, when is said I didn't have the urge to shop, I actually still bought a few things; the funky sunglasses in the picture, a skirt from H&M and a pair of adidas shoes - comfy for traveling!
Besides, I really need to start shopping for school since they changed the dressing rules. Gawd.

I have flip-flops tanned lines thanks to Qatar. I hope the Melbourne weather will gradually neutralizes my foot skin. Me and my friend went to Chapel St yesterday! Initially we went there because she was craving for some good ol' ribs, and the only place we could think of for some decent ribs thats within our budget range was TGI.

After TGI, we walked around for a bit to see some leftover sales. And I've found some shoes! I got the shoes above on sale. It was a pretty good offer. Tomorrow is Camberwell market day! I can't wait! :) Ooh, and I can't stop watching Bolt! And I want to watch Up again as well as Toy Story 1 and 2.

Today was the second day of my trimester, and already I want a break! It's really cold right now in Melbourne, super windy too! I need to buy warmer clothings. I watched "The Hangover" today with my housemate. I love it! It's hilarious. I love Tracy's brother the most, I can't quite remember what his name was. I think it was Alan.

Went to the city today and the only reason I went with my mom and sister is because sales are everywhere! The vest I'm wearing is actually a gift from Pakistan. I had it a few years back but I've only started wearing it recently. Also the bag is a gift from Karina where she got it from Aceh (Island of Sumatra). It's very ethnic!

I've always loved Mum's striped top! I wore it so often in year nine, but I stopped wearing it for some awkward reason, maybe I got bored. Then last saturday when Mum told me to attend a compolsury family event, I had a sudden want of wearing the top, so I went in Mum's room and looked deep in her closet of clothes for it. Thank goodness she hasn't given it away yet!

Oh don't you just love shopping? Especially when you haven't done it for a while! It's almost like a drug aint it, except it doesn't toxicate your body and mind.. or maybe it does. Uh, don't mind the veggie heads, we just thought it would be cool to have veggie heads! Gives a sort of feel of what it feels like to be a vegetable. Ok, maybe not, I take that back (not the cool bit though).
